Zion's Ground Beef Burger

Our family absolutely loves when we have burger night for dinner! The children literally line up to get first shot as these burgers pop out the pan.
This recipe is both delicious and quick for occasions when you don't have the time to devote hours for dinner but still want to be able to have a wonderful home cooked meal! Follow the steps bellow and try it out yourself!
2 lbs. Zion's Farm ground beef
2-3 tablespoons dried onion
1 cup crushed regular saltine crackers
1 pinch salt and 1 pinch coarse ground pepper
1.) Take out your ground beef and thaw in cool water, no need for microwave or hot water. Let ground beef come to room temperature.
2.) In a mixing bowl combine your ground beef, salt, pepper, dried onions, and crushed saltine crackers. The dried onions absorb excess moisture while the saltines add some salt. Make sure not to over-mix your ingredients! Doing so could make tough burgers.
3.) Once mixed, roll into palm sized balls and smash into patties. Press thumb into patties to help burgers cook uniformly and evenly. Also, make sure your patties have come up to room temp and aren't cold!
4.) Heat up about 1 tablespoon of high smoke point cooking oil in skillet (we used avocado oil). Set temperature slightly above medium (about 7).
5.) Place patties in skillet and cover for about 3 min. Flip, cover again, and let cook for an additional 1.5-2 min. Take out of skillet and let rest for 5 min. Red juices coming out reflects a medium cooked burger. I told you this was quick and easy!
6.) Plate and enjoy! We love them with cheese on a bun. So good, you won't even reach for ketchup! For moms and dads, we find these burgers pair nicely with an oaky, dark red wine. Special thanks to former controller at Lee & Associates Dung Nguyen for the wine pictured here!
