Ingredients for Dough:
1 cup warm water
1 Tbs active dry yeast
1 Tbs olive oil
1 Tbs honey
2 1/2 cups unbleached white flour (King Arthur flour works really well)
1 tsp salt
Ingredients for filling:
2 Tbs yellow mustard
5 large slices of sliced ham
1 pkg pepperoni
1 lb Zion's Farm T&E ground sausage
6 slices American cheese
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 egg, beaten
1 Tbs water
To make the dough, whisk together the warm water, yeast, oil, and honey. Let this sit for about 5 minutes while the yeast activates. It will become foamy looking.
While the yeast is sitting, add your flour and salt into a medium sized bowl and mix together. When yeast has activated, pour it into the flour mixture.
Mix well with a fork until combined. Then, knead it lightly by hand and form it into a smooth ball. Cover and let sit for about 20 minutes.
Sprinkle flour on a clean surface and dump out your dough onto it. Knead it a little with some flour sprinkled on top. Then roll it out into a 12 x 20 in. rectangle. Spread the mustard down the center, and then layer the meats down the center. Then, layer the American cheese, then mozzarella cheese on top.
Fold one side of the dough over the filling and wet the top edge with water. Fold the other side over the top and seal the ends by pinching them tight.
Transfer to a greased baking sheet. For the egg wash, mix together the egg and water. Brush it on top of the stromboli and sprinkle with dried oregano.
Bake at 400F for 20 minutes. Cover with foil for 5 minutes after removing from the oven to soften the crust.
